This embroidered patch represents the SHAEF- Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force. All members of the Headquarters Staff wore this shoulder patch during World War II.
Dwight D. Eisenhower commanded SHAEF and was in charge of planning for Operation Overlord (The Normandy Invasion) and all allied military operations in Europe fighting the Nazi regime.
