This is an accurate, fully assembled, 1:32 scale die cast model of the Willys Jeep which entered Army service in 1941. The original Willys Jeep was produced at the request of the War Department to satisfy a need for a cross-country reconnaissance vehicle.
Working from a Bantam Car Company design, Willys-Overland Motors, Inc. was contracted to build the Willys Jeep for the war and the company produced over 360,000 vehicles by 1945. The first light duty off-road, 4-wheel drive vehicle, the Jeep became one of the most useful vehicles during WWII.
